Module 2: Current approaches to ventilatory support in COPD and why EFL is a potentially important variable

In this second module, Professor Winfried Randerath from Germany, and Professor Michael Polkey from the United Kingdom, are going to outline the current state of the art of non-invasive ventilation in patients with COPD.

Professor Polkey is going to look at how we have got to where we are and the evidence that this is effective. Professor Randerath is going to consider what problems we have, and potential strategies as to how things might be improved. By understanding where we are at the moment we can better decide where we would like to go in the future and this module will be helpful in understanding that journey.
