Module 3: Developing a novel non-invasive ventilator to address EFL issues. Practical use and applications

In this third module, Professor Peter Calverley (Liverpool, UK) will be outlining the theoretical basis of how we developed a new ventilator strategy for the management of patients with COPD. Dr. Mandal (London, UK) is going to give us some practical guidance as to how this sort of ventilator can be used.

Developing a new approach to ventilation is a challenging exercise, which takes both time and energy to translate ideas from the benchtop to the bedside. But this has been achieved by considerable cooperation between scientists, engineers and industry. Both speakers like to share with you some of their experiences on the first steps of that journey.
